An indie film series will be held Monday at the Hyattsville public library.
Three short films will be shown at the library from 7 to 9 p.m. Attendees will also be able to meet the filmmakers and participate in a discussion led by Miriam Machado-Luces. producer, writer and director of documentary films.
Here’s the trailer for “A Lover’s Call,” a 25-minute drama by Najma Nuriddin. The film tells a story about a young single Muslim living in D.C. whose faith is tested by his relationship with a poet.
Also showing: “Dark City TV,” a 60-minute docu-drama by Howard Brown about young people living in D.C., and “Maestrina da Favela,” a 10-minute film by Falani Spivey.
