A Footnote on the Firehouse Lofts

Here’s a little historical footnote about the Firehouse Lofts from the Prince George’s Sentinel:

At 4334 Farragut Street, there is a new condominium complex called “Firehouse Lofts.” I find this so interesting as this is the location of the original Hyattsville firehouse. It was later used as a public library. While the first floor was used as the firehouse, many of our older city residents remember climbing the steps to the second floor to take the written test for their driver’s license. The structure has a very interesting background, and I love driving by it. You can still see the shape of the firehouse.
