A Taste of Texas in Hyattsville

Screen Shot 2013-01-27 at 10.32.51 PMA Hyattsville company’s grill brushes were featured in last month’s Esquire.

As part of its “Great American Things” collection, the men’s magazine highlighted the Texas Brush:

Texas “brushmen” EC Tuttle and Alvis Garretson started out as two retirees just looking for a way to make some extra golf money. Little did they know, they’d end up changing the grill brush game with their heavy duty Texas Brush. It’s made from tempered carbon steel and hand cut wood, specifically chosen for them from Alabama trees. Each brush is hand crafted to achieve consistency and durability. It’s called a Texas Brush, but the company actually operates out of Hyattsville, Maryland.

It’s not the company’s first brush with fame. Their brushes have also been featured on “Good Morning America” and are used at national chains such as Chili’s, TGI Fridays and Carrabba’s.
