Hyattsville has another Little Free Library tucked nicely in front of Hyattsville Elementary School and it’s adorable. The reading bench next to it makes for a perfect place for both the young and old to enjoy a good book outside.
The new library, bench, and patio were built and installed by the Hyattsville Elementary School’s PTA in honor of Stephanie Chapman. As we wrote in a previous post last year, this is part of an international movement to build tiny libraries where people can borrow and leave books.
Other Little Free Libraries in Hyattsville can be found in the Robert J. King Memorial Park next to the Masonic Lodge on Gallatin Street as well as along the walking path in Centennial Park.
Beyond what the new Little Free Library brings to the community, it’s also a nice addition to the front of Hyattsville Elementary.

Thank you for writing about our school’s library! We are really proud of it. Just a slight correction, this library, bench, and patio were actually built and installed by the Hyattsville Elementary School’s PTA as a memorial to Stephanie Chapman, our school’s much-loved reading specialist who passed away from ovarian cancer a few years ago.
Thanks Justine for your comment. We have noted a correction in the post.
Thanks for these posts! I just moved to Hyattsville and look forward to following your blog from here on out
