Other than the Little Free Library, we were curious to know what else was new at Hyattsville Elementary School. Earlier this week we caught up with Julia Burton, who is coming up on her one-year anniversary as principal of the school.
She mentioned Camp Invention, a nationally acclaimed program, is starting next week, and that the school will offer a before- and after-school program starting this fall to help parents and caregivers.
Julia spoke briefly about how the school’s PTA was planning to meet to discuss the art work that will go alongside the new wall facing Jefferson Street. She said nothing was definitive yet, but that there was talk of putting in mosaic artwork.
