Ride the Streetcar to Hyattsville

If you’ve ever been curious what a ride on Hyattsville’s streetcars was like, here’s your chance.

In this archival footage posted on YouTube earlier this year, you can see what it was like to ride the 82 streetcar line from Eckington in Washington, D.C., up to Hyattsville and on to College Park.

The streetcar approaches Hyattsville around eight minutes into the video and downtown can be glimpsed around 8:32 as the streetcar line parallels the B&O railroad.

Streetcars ran to Hyattsville from 1899 to 1958, when they were replaced by buses.
