Hyattsville’s Other Green Roof

IMG_0886

Hyattsville has another green roof.

In an earlier post we noted that the roof over the Busboys and Poets building which also houses Yes! Organic Market is green.

We recently spotted another green roof just up the street at Renaissance Square Artist Housing on Jefferson Street. This is a great trend that we’d love to see more of.

As it turns out, Washington, D.C., is a hotspot for green roofs.

According to the Annual Green Roof Industry Survey for 2012, Washington ranked number one, for the second year in a row, among North American metropolitan regions for installing the most green roofs, followed by Chicago, New York City, Toronto, and Philadelphia.
