The Riverdale Park Whole Foods will open on Wednesday, April 12.

The long-awaited grocery store will hold a “bread-breaking ceremony” at 8:45 a.m. to inaugurate its new 40,000-square-foot addition. There will be various product demonstrations and special deals on the first day.

Among the regular offerings at the store:

• Self-serve coffee and espresso, including cold-brew
• Six types of cold-pressed juice including apple, pineapple and blends like “Deep Beet”
• Wood-fired pizza and smoked fish made on site
• A superfruit acai bowl bar and self-serve mochi

Before the Whole Foods even opened, local real estate agents said it had spurred increased interest in homes in the surrounding area, helping drive up sales prices.

“The Whole Foods has been very instrumental in getting people to consider this as a place to live, specifically people from outside the area who wouldn’t have gravitated here,” Long and Foster’s Jean Pirovic told Bisnow.

Three other retailers have signed on to Riverdale Park Station: Burton’s Grill and Bar, Comcast and Jersey Mike’s Subs.
