Streetcar 82 Holds a Sneak Preview

Streetcar 82 Brewery Hyattsville beerStreetcar 82 Brewing Co. opened its doors for a preview of its new space in downtown Hyattsville.

On Sunday, the Belgian-inspired brewery hosted some of its future patrons for a tour of the building, which has undergone some preliminary demolition work, and a tasting of its a Belgian Blond Ale, made with honey from Hyattsville’s Hope Honey Farm.

The group then took a rented schoolbus to Baltimore to watch an Orioles game.

Plans for the interior are complete, and they include space for a high-top bar, a walk-in cooler and outdoor patio seating. The eastern-facing building has plenty of light, but will be perfect for the nighttime events they plan to host.

Co-owner Mark Burke told the Hyattsville Wire that they are planning to open sometime this winter.

The brewery may already have its mascot: A streetcar that Burke’s parents dug up from a box of old toys and brought with them to the event.
