Burton’s Grill and Bar, an upscale sit-down restaurant chain, will open Jan. 22 at Riverdale Park Station, according to developers.
The Connecticut-based chain, which has 14 locations from New Hampshire to Florida, features a menu favoring standard American fare like pan-seared salmon and a New York strip steak.
But it has a much more inclusive approach than typical grills, with special offerings for vegetarians, people with gluten allergies and people on a paleo diet.
Burton’s joins a growing sit-down restaurant scene along Route 1, from Pizzeria Paradiso and Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville to Kapnos Taverna, Old Maryland Grill and Potomac Pizza in College Park. So far, there’s no sign that the area has reached market saturation.
Burton’s will do well with its traditional menu and an airy, high-ceilinged interior perfect for date nights in a central location with ample parking should help too.
This is Burton’s third spot in the greater D.C. metropolitan area with it’s other locations in Alexandria and Sterling, Virginia.
The restaurant has already posted job listings for servers, bartenders and line cooks.
