Two coworking spaces are coming to downtown Hyattsville soon.
Dream Village, a coworking space aimed at entrepreneurs, is slated to open soon at 5128 Baltimore Ave., in the space next to Tanglewood Works.
The brainchild of Eunique Jones Gibson, founder of the Because of Them We Can campaign, the workspace aims to provide “consistent support and resources” to people looking to start their own businesses.
Instagram photos reveal an interior with exposed brick, bright colors, lots of different kinds of seating and various options for working. The website has not launched yet, but you can sign up to get an email about membership and buy swag.
Down the street, CAMPspace is set to also open soon at 4214 Gallatin St., next to Yoga Space. The space is available for private events from three to 12 hours, private meetings in a six-person conference room and coworking from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The coworking space, which costs $20 a day or $250 a month, comes with high-speed wifi, conference room, unlimited coffee and complimentary wine and champagne.
Previously seen as a niche market, coworking spaces are quickly becoming big business, led by businesses like WeWork and Convene, both of which are in the D.C. market.
There are already some coworking spaces around the Route 1 corridor. Startup Shell, a student-run coworking space at the University of Maryland, has helped more than 60 ventures launch since starting in 2012, while 5 Points is a coworking space in Woodridge.
