The Route 1 corridor definitely punches above its weight class in the Best of D.C.’s reader poll.
Local businesses have historically done considerably well on the annual Washington City Paper survey, especially considering how much competition there is in the larger D.C. metro area.
In 2017, Hyattsville’s Tanglewood Works won “best handmade home decor,” while Edmonston’s Community Forklift won “best green business” and Brentwood’s Spartan Plumbing won “best plumber.”
That same year, Hyattsville’s Vigilante Coffee and Woodridge’s Zeke’s Coffee were both runners-up for “best coffee shop,” College Park’s Ledo Pizza was a runner-up for “best pizza” , Big Planet Comics was a runner-up for “best comic book store,” and Hyattsville’s Artist & Craftsman Supply was a runner-up for “best arts and crafts store.”
This year, the Hyattsville Wire is asking for your vote for “best community blog,” but there several other local businesses along the Route 1 corridor that you should voting for as well:
