Hyattsville’s Streetcar 82 Gets Ready to Brew

Hyattsville’s newest brewery is getting closer to opening.

Streetcar 82 Brewing Co. has just received four seven-barrel fermenting tanks, a seven-barrel brite tank and a 3.5-barrel brewhouse system, meaning it will be ready to start brewing beer soon.

“The construction has pretty much gone according to plan,” co-owner Jon Cetrano told the Hyattsville Wire. “Our biggest delays right now are getting our water and electricity connected.”

The tanks, shown above, are stationed in the brewery’s production room, which will have seating and tables for customers on evenings and the weekends. In warmer weather months, customers will also be able to sit on a patio in front of the large garage doors.

There are also plans for a few stools and a high-top bar along the windows in the area just inside the front door.

Located on Rhode Island Avenue, the brewery will be a short walk from Pizzeria Paradiso, Franklins Restaurant and Brewery as well as the planned Sangfroid distillery, which will be an added draw for all four businesses, a phenomenon that economists have long noticed with like-minded businesses.

Cetrano said no opening date has been set yet, though they are planning to open sometime this spring.
