Three new stores have opened at the Mall at Prince Georges recently as part of an ongoing transformation of the Hyattsville shopping center.
Alex and Ani, a Rhode Island-based retailer that offers “eco-conscious” jewelry with a spiritual flair, opened Monday at the mall, alongside Pandora and Kendra Scott. All three storefronts are being run by Grand Jewels.
It joins other recent additions which opened recently: Ulta Beauty, a fast-growing beauty store and salon chain known for driving significant foot traffic, and DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse), a popular footwear retailer.
At 10,712 square feet, Ulta features a “skin bar” where you can get a facial and a “brow bar” where you can get your eyebrows waxed, tweezed, trimmed or even tinted.
The stores show that the Mall at Prince George’s has become an attractive spot for more upscale retailers.
Alex and Ani is a good indicator, a growing retailer with 89 locations in the U.S., with other stores nearby in places like Georgetown, Bethesda and McLean.
The mall, which opened in 1959, was last renovated in 2001, when Target moved in.
