A new, locally-owned and operated, full-service independent pharmacy is coming to Hyattsville on Route 1 at 5814 Baltimore Ave., in the space formerly occupied by Labor Ready.
The Hyattsville Wire caught up with Dr. Prince Adekoya, who has been with the pharmacy for 14 years, to learn more.
Padek Healthcare Pharmacy, which is family-owned and has been operating in Bladensburg since 2005, provides services in both English and Spanish, offers traditional and compounded medicine as well as herbal and alternative remedies.
The new location will have a vaccination center on site and a full line of herbal supplements and offer home-delivery services, free diabetic and blood-pressure screening and monitoring, and free health-related classes.
Padek joins Lawson’s Pharmacy, located on Hamilton Street in West Hyattsville, as a local independent pharmacy that serves as an alternative to the chain stores along the Route 1 corridor such as Rite Aid and CVS.
The new pharmacy is slated to open by the beginning of July with store hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking will be available in the lot behind the pharmacy.
