The owner of Potomac Pizza and Bagels ‘n Grinds is opening a high-end bar and grill in College Park in August.
College Park Grill will be located on the ground floor of the new 150-room Cambria hotel being built just north of Berwyn House Road on Baltimore Avenue.
Owner Adam Greenberg told the Hyattsville Wire he is aiming for a classy but accessible menu, with midpoint pricing, a wood-burning pizza oven and live jazz music.
The menu will include at least 100 wines and 12 beers on tap complemented by classic items like house-made spinach dip.
Joining a growing restaurant scene, the grill will be in the heart of a now transformed area of College Park, near the new Vigilante Coffee, the Varsity student apartments and Alloy by Alta high-end housing, and just north of the upcoming Iribe Center, Purple Line station and Hotel at the University of Maryland.
The Cambria hotel is intended to be a more affordable overflow for the high-end Hotel at the University of Maryland during conferences and other events, as well as another offering in the increasingly upscale local hotel scene — part of an overall effort by the university to sell College Park as a new boomtown.
A lifelong Maryland resident, Greenberg has run a variety of restaurants throughout his career in such places as Bethesda, Potomac, Chevy Chase and Rockville, but this is his third restaurant to open in College Park in just under a year.
