&pizza will open at the Mall at Prince Georges on Thursday, July 19, as a wave of new restaurants come to the Route 1 corridor.
The popular D.C.-based fast casual chain is part of a wave of pizza places that have opened recently, including Blaze Pizza and Lotsa Stone-Fired Pizza in College Park and MOD Pizza at Riverdale Park Station.
It’s also one of several restaurants coming this summer to the Route 1 corridor.
The California-based fast-casual chain Habit Burger Grill will open a new location at Riverdale Park Station on Wednesday, July 11. The interior is close to finished, and if you stop by now they may give you a coupon for a free burger, but it’s not officially open yet.
Jersey Mike’s Subs at Riverdale Park Station is still under construction and getting their sign up, but are slated to open in late July.
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, a D.C. area fast-casual chain that aims to do for Mediterranean food what Chipotle did for Mexican, will open at the Mall at Prince George’s on Wednesday, July 18. They originally had an opening date of June 30, but it looks like that has been pushed back.
Taiwanese bubble tea chain Gong Cha will open at Terrapin Row in College Park in July. SeoulSpice, which takes a Chipotle approach to Korean street fare; Poki District, which takes a Chipotle approach to the Hawaiian poke trend; Cheers Cut, a casual Taiwanese restaurant; and Wings Over, which serves chicken wings, will also open soon there.
College Park Grill, a high-end bar and grill, will open in August on the ground floor of the new Cambria hotel being built just north of Berwyn House Road in College Park.
Meanwhile, Savor at Studio 3807, a 6,300-square-foot food hall similar to Union Market, will open at Studio 3807 complex in Brentwood sometime in August.
And finally, one of the most anticipated restaurants in the greater D.C. area, Pennyroyal Station, a bar and restaurant from the owners of the popular Bar Pilar and Café Saint-Ex restaurants in D.C., is expected to open this fall in the historic Singer Building in Mount Rainier.
