College Park Grill will have a grand opening on Wednesday, Aug. 1, adding another high-end bar and grill to the Route 1 corridor dining scene.
Located in the 150-room Cambria hotel at 8321 Baltimore Avenue, the restaurant will focus on classic entrees such as ribs, steaks, chicken and fish in an upscale setting.
What makes College Park Grill unique is that it will have a baby grand piano and live jazz seven days a week, including a jazz brunch on Sundays. The restaurant will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Owner Adam Greenberg, who also runs the popular Potomac Pizza and Bagels ‘n Grinds spots in the Hotel at the University of Maryland down the street, told the Hyattsville Wire that he wants it to be a “power breakfast, lunch and dinner spot” with reasonable prices.
The menu will include at least 100 wines, including 10 to 15 by the glass; 12 beers on tap; an extensive menu of hand-crafted cocktails; classic dishes like baby back ribs and wood-fired pizza; and seasonal touches like grilled artichoke. Food will also be available for takeout.
The interior of the restaurant also features an original American flag painting by D.C. artist Kim Schaechter Cohen.
College Park Grill joins a growing list of upscale dining options along the Route 1 corridor, including Old Maryland Grill at the Hotel at the University of Maryland, Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville and Burtons Grill at Riverdale Park Station and the soon-to-open Pennyroyal Station in Mount Rainier.
Meantime, Jersey Mike’s Subs will open at Riverdale Park Station, also on Aug. 1. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
