Hyattsville Arts Festival to Draw Thousands

One of the Route 1 corridor’s most popular annual events will draw thousands to Hyattsville on September 22 along Gallatin St. in front of Pyramid Arts Center and on nearby streets.

Held from noon to 6 p.m. today, the Hyattsville Arts and Ales Festival will feature more than 100 artists and artisans, food trucks, musicians and microbreweries.

It’s a good place to sample the upcoming Savor at Studio 3807, D.C. Sweet Potato Cake, Maryland Meadworks, along with Streetcar 82 Brewing Co. and Calvert Brewing Co., among other local favorites, or try some of the vendors who’ve come from outside the Route 1 corridor.

Artists include jewelry makers, painters, photographers, sculptors, printmakers and potters, among other things.

Started when the Arts District Hyattsville was still under construction, the arts festival has grown alongside the recent boom on the Route 1 corridor. More than 5,000 are expected to attend this year, and it was named the best event in the Best of Route 1 Hyattsville Wire readers poll  this year.
