Cuban Coffee Shop Kahvie Opens April 10

Cuban coffee shop Kahvie will open in Hyattsville on April 10.

Located within the Vie Towers at University Town Center, Kahvie will serve Cuban-style coffee from woman-owned Grand Havana Coffee, including specialty drinks like cafecitos and cortaditos.

The cafe will also serve tea from the Art of Tea, sandwiches from Blossom Catering, baked goods from Fresh Baguette and pastries from Delicias Peruvian Desserts.

General Manager Sarah Nicotra, who has been documenting progress toward the opening on Kahvie’s Instagram page, said the cafe will have a soften opening from April 10 to 13.

The interior is very airy, featuring stone, wood and glass and even a moss wall.

The coffee shop will be within walking distance of the Mall at Prince Georges, University Town Center and newly renovated apartments, adding another option for a quick coffee break. And if you have never tried a cortadito, make that your first order.
