New Riverdale Park Hair Cuttery Now Open

After a series of planned opening dates that got pushed back, the new Hair Cuttery at The Station at Riverdale Park is now officially open as of today, February 8.

The hair salon left its location at 7405 Baltimore Ave. earlier in January ahead of construction of the College Park’s new landmark $47 million City Hall and retail center.

The new Hair Cuttery location has an upscale look and feel and is next to Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop on 45th Street across from District Taco.

Hair Cuttery District Manager Kelly Roth told the Hyattsville Wire they are planning an official grand opening later in March but will have other opening celebrations leading up to that including distributing coupons around the neighborhood.

A Hair Cuttery location at the Shoppes at Arts District Hyattsville closed a few years ago, and was replaced by Kaizen Teriyaki.

Long a staple of suburban strip malls, the Virginia-based Hair Cuttery has nearly 1,000 locations across the United States. In recent years, it’s sought to shake up its image to appeal to budget-conscious millennials. Meanwhile, construction of the new city hall in College Park is now underway.

The new Hair Cuttery joins other area hair salons including Bananas, Today’s Hair, Alina’s Salon and Hair + Space Blowdry and Beauty Bar in College Park and M & R’s Dominican Hair Salon in Hyattsville.

Official hours of operation at Riverdale Park’s new Hair Cuttery are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.,  Saturday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
