The Route 1 corridor’s newest development, Artisan 4100 at 4100 Rhode Island Ave., is available for immediate occupancy as of this week, with the first tenants scheduled to begin moving in this weekend.
Six apartments have already been pre-leased, and artwork from more than 40 local artists in the building’s permanent collection is currently being installed while Silver Spring youth group Arts on the Block is working to complete four mosaics on the exterior wall adding to the growing public art scene along the Route 1 corridor.
Meanwhile, Just Rock, which offers music summer camps, after-school programs and individual lessons; and Kea Dupree Photography will open in the comings months on the main floor.
Peter Siegel, CEO of Landex Development which was also behind Studio 3807 apartments across the street, told the Hyattsville Wire that another 2,700 square feet of retail space that can be used for visual artists, restaurants or other businesses is still available.
“We are looking for businesses that complement the community in terms of vibe and need,” he said.
Artisan 4100 features studio and two-bedroom apartments along with music studios, a gallery and other arts-oriented spaces including retail. It’s located across from the Brentwood Arts Exchange, and steps away from Studio 3807 apartments and the new Savor food hall, bringing a whole new look to the area.
