Pizzeria Paradiso, which has locations Hyattsville, D.C. and Virginia, will give away 10,000 pizzas over the next 10 weeks to people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. through June 11, the pizzeria will distribute 300 individual whole-grain crust pizzas, a vegetable side and an Art Works Now coloring sheet in conjunction with Real Food for Kids: Chefs Feeding Families, which is helping families affected by school shutdowns.

Next Monday, Pizzeria Paradiso will give away 200 pizzas to senior citizens in Hyattsville; on Tuesday, 125 pizzas to Children’s Hospital and George Washington University Hospital; and on Wednesday, 250 pizzas to Hook Hall Helps, which is helping people left unemployed by the pandemic.

Prince George’s County Council Member Deni Taveras and the Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council are also supporting the 10,000 Pizzas initiative.

Pizzeria Paradiso founder Ruth Gresser is also taking suggestions for future pizza donations at info@eatyourpizza.com. To donate to the effort, click here. To donate to Real Food for Kids, click here.
