Joe’s Movement Emporium is offering daytime care for the children of essential workers in Maryland beginning April 20.

For more than 20 years, the Mount Rainier dance center has offered dance, music, performance and visual arts lessons through its Club Joe’s after-care program during the school year and its Camp Joe’s summer camps

Last week, it began accepting applications for a new daytime Club Joe’s program.

To qualify, children must be between the ages of 5 and 13 and have a parent who is considered an essential worker in Maryland.

“Our program provides academic support to follow e-learning, includes quality arts education experiences, and outdoor play,” they noted.

Children will be assigned in groups of nine to a teacher worked in an individual studio space.

Child care centers in Maryland were required to close in late March, but they can reopen if they undergo a thorough cleaning, receive new licensing approval and commit to serving only children of essential personnel. More than 1,500 child care centers have reopened.
