Franklins restaurant at 5123 Baltimore Avenue in Hyattsville, opened an outdoor biergarten Wednesday for eating and drinking with proper social distancing following required safety guidelines.
With help from the city of Hyattsville, the eatery has set up 10 tables underneath tents in its parking lot, for a maximum of 50 people at a time.
“We can’t thank all of our loyal customers enough for supporting us over these last three months,” the restaurant noted on its Facebook page. “Times have been scary and uncertain, and we don’t know where we would be without you. So come, sit, enjoy the weather, and hang with friends at Franklins again!”
Each table, which seats six, has a QR code that you can scan with your phone to see the food and beer menus online so that you don’t have to touch a menu.
Orders will then be brought out in carry-out containers and to-go cups. Only credit cards are accepted.
Seating is first-come, first-serve, but you should let a member of the wait staff know before sitting so that they can sanitize your area.
The biergarten will be open from noon to 8 p.m. daily, while carryout will continue to be offered from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Franklins joins a number of other eateries and craft alcohol spots that have opened for outdoor seating, in addition to take out and delivery, as part of the first phase of Prince George’s County’s reopening which went into effect June 1, including Streetcar 82, Busboys and Poets in Hyattsville and Town Center Market in Riverdale Park.
