Red Onion Records is back open, with some changes to how you can shop.

With Prince George’s County in a modified phase two of reopening, the popular Hyattsville record shop at 4208 Gallatin Street has started regular store hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Other times are available by appointment.

In a post on Instagram, owner Joshua Harkavy said he was still getting used to the new procedures.

“We can only allow four customers in the shop at a time and you must wear a mask or face covering,” he wrote. “I’ll be cleaning and disinfecting the shop multiple times throughout the day and we have plenty of hand sanitizer.”

During the lockdown, Harkavy had regularly posted records for sale on Instagram, searching for records requested by customers and making deliveries in the Hyattsville area.

Red Onion was also part of an effort by the SoHy Co-op to encourage residents to shop locally online.
