One of Woodridge’s newest businesses is an interior design firm that specializes in upscale commercial projects such as apartments, hotels and restaurants.
Named for an influential psychologist, Bandura Design renovated their new space at 2216 Rhode Island Avenue near Zeke’s Coffee earlier this spring during the coronavirus lockdown.
The woman-owned (and staffed) business was started in 2016 by Jennifer Farris, who has worked in interior design since graduating from the noted Rhode Island School of Design in 2002.
The firm has done work everywhere from Charlotte to Salt Lake City. In the greater D.C. area, they worked on upscale apartment projects such as the Hepburn in Kalorama, the Foxchase in Alexandria and the Wellington in Arlington, and the Makan Malaysian restaurant in Columbia Heights.
With that kind of experience in real estate, the fact that they bought and renovated the building they moved into is a good sign for Woodridge.
Urban Turf recently named Woodridge among the five DC neighborhoods with the highest home appreciation in 2020 with median home prices increasing 40 percent from $487,500 in 2019 to $682,000 in 2020.
