The Mall at Prince Georges in Hyattsville is offering handpicked boxes of back-to-school items for kindergarten through eighth grade.
As it seeks to counter the downturn in mall shopping, the Pennsylvania-based owners of the mall created sMALL Surprises, which will have a personal shopper curate a box from mall retailers like Urban Outfitters, Michael’s and H&M based on a short questionnaire.
“PREIT is proud to be the first in the mall industry to launch this type of initiative and we’re excited about the unique advantages this inaugural e-commerce endeavor will bring to our shoppers, tenants, and investors,” said Joseph F. Coradino, CEO of PREIT, in a statement.
Each box, which can be mailed anywhere in the U.S., will contain selection of sensory toys and games, accessories, cleaning products, activity cards, stickers and school supplies.
Two boxes are available right now: Fun Pack ($40) and Awesome Pack ($60). Shoppers can also choose the Mystery Gift in either size.
