Keller Williams Capital Properties is opening its third location in Maryland in Hyattsville near Pizzeria Paradiso, the latest sign that the real estate market on the Route 1 corridor is heating up, from Woodridge, D.C. all the way up to College Park.
The office held a virtual ribbon-cutting and soft opening three weeks ago and plans to officially open by the end of October.
The real estate agency is part of the Menkiti Group, which was involved in remodeling the Singer Flats building in Mount Rainier.
The Menkiti Group, which also owns the building at 4806 Rhode Island Avenue where Keller Williams’ new office, worked with Hyattsville’s Green Owl Design to refresh the facades with a more modern material while keeping the Tudor design, including adding a new roof and retaining wall and upgrading the interior.
Jason Stone, the team leader for the Keller Williams Capital Properties Dupont Circle office, told the Hyattsville Wire said that the company thought the Route 1 corridor and areas around Hyattsville would be a great area to expand to.
The side of the building also has a new mural, “Greetings from Hyattsville” by Hyattsville artist Robert ‘Rohaun ‘ Stephenson which features local scenes inside an old-fashioned postcard and can be seen from Rhode Island Ave., driving north into downtown Hyattsville.
The area near the real estate agency has become something of a hotspot, with Pizzeria Paradiso, Streetcar 82 Brewing Co. and Artist & Craftsman Supply also being located in that area.
Apart from Dupont Circle, Keller Williams Capital Properties’ other offices are in well-established areas like Capitol Hill and Tenleytown in D.C.; Rockville and Bethesda in Maryland; and Fairfax, Springfield and Stafford in Virginia.
