Dodah’s Kitchen in Mount Rainier Plans Opening by End of the Year

Dodah’s Kitchen is scheduled to open its new location overlooking the Mount Rainier circle by the end of the year.

Gary Feld, co-owner of the vegan soul food bakery and cafe, told the Hyattsville Wire that they are only waiting on final inspections and approval from the county health department to open at 3801 34th St., the former location of Bird Kitchen and Cocktails.

The new restaurant will join another Dodah’s Kitchen at 1210 N. Charles St. in Baltimore that opened in September along with their Brentwood kitchen.

As with other local restaurants, the opening was delayed from last year due in part to the coronavirus pandemic.

The restaurant will run under Prince George’s County’s current restrictions limiting restaurants to 25 percent occupancy indoors and plans to put outdoor seating in front along Baltimore Avenue.

Feld said they are offering a new meal service in which customers can choose from a set list of vegan meals that are delivered to their homes. Dodah’s is also offering a vegan Thanksgiving special.
