New Wine Bar Coming to Mount Rainier

A new wine bar is coming to Mount Rainier next to Pennyroyal Station.

Located at 3300 Rhode Island Ave., Era Wine Bar will serve 50 wines by the glass and more than 100 by the bottle for dine-in or to-go.

Glasses will come in three sizes: three-ounce tastings, six-ounce pours and nine-ounce savors. It also plan to offer small plates of dishes inspired by the owners’ own family recipes and travels abroad.

In addition, Era will have a private cellar where members can store their own bottles, offer wine courses and other special programs and be available for booking private events.

Owners Michelle Mwalimu and Ka-ton Grant moved to Mount Rainier in 2018 “after years of traveling, studying, and experimenting with food and wine from around the world.”

They recently posted on their Instagram page that they are waiting for licenses and permits.
