Meet University Park’s Free Little Art Gallery

The Route 1 corridor already has Little Free libraries and Little Free food pantries. Now it has a Free Little Art Gallery as well.

Inspired by a similar gallery in Seattle, Judith and Michael Cayo Cotter set up a small box at 4301 Van Buren St. in University Park.

The little art gallery will regularly showcase tiny art by a different artist, including both children and adults.

Currently on display is the work of Audrey, a seventh grader who began making paper clothes for her drawing mannequins during the pandemic.

Another Free Little Art Gallery can be found along East Capitol Street between Third and Fourth streets Southeast in D.C.

The Cotters are co-founders of Blue Sky Puppet Theatre, a professional touring children- and family-oriented puppet theater troupe started in 1974.

If you are interested in showcasing your art in University Park’s Free Little Art Gallery, you can email jcayocotter@gmail.com.
