Cajun Seafood Chain Headed to Hyattsville’s Mall at Prince George’s

A Cajun seafood chain restaurant is coming to the Mall at Prince George’s.

Launched in Lanham in 2013, Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood & Bar has been rapidly expanding in recent years through franchising.

The Hyattsville location is near the southwest entrance to the mall by T.J. Maxx and has an exterior entrance of its own.

After its original opening date in 2019 was pushed back, the restaurant is now set to open this summer, as early as mid-June, and has passed inspections, according to a representative of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust, which owns the mall.

Hook & Reel currently has 94 locations either open or under construction, including a standalone restaurant at 6002 Greenbelt Rd. in Greenbelt.

The menu includes raw oysters, seafood boils and po’ boys as well as seafood chain fare like breaded catfish served with French fries.

It joins BeClaws, a Cajun-Asian fusion restaurant at University Town Center that has a more upscale vibe.
