Brentwood’s Little Miner Taco recently opened a location in Brookland, becoming another restaurant on the Route 1 corridor to expand to D.C.
Located at 3512 12th St. NE, the new location offers a take-out window only with a short wait time, perfect for people looking for a quick bite.
The Brookland spot, which opens at 8 a.m. daily, has the same menu as its Brentwood location inside the miXt food hall at Studio 3807 offering a breakfast menu from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. and an all day menu through 10 p.m., seven days a week.
The Brookland location also has a carryout window for owner Mackenzie Kitburi’s other restaurant chain, Little Fire Bird, which makes hot chicken sandwiches.
As with its other locations, kids eat free at Little Miner Taco in Brookland, which is a cashless business accepting all credit and debit cards as well as Apple and Google Pay.
Little Miner Taco also runs two popular food trucks that travel around the greater D.C. area and Baltimore and has a brick-and-mortar eatery in North Bethesda, which it opened in 2020.
The taqueria got its start inside the Brentwood food hall in 2019 when it first opened.
It joins a growing list of Route 1 restaurants heading south to expand. Riverdale Park’s 2Fifty Texas BBQ recently opened a second spot at Union Market, and last year Beltsville’s Swahili Village opened an upscale counterpart in D.C.
