Hyattsville’s Three Little Birds and Sweet Pea Fiber Hold Grand Opening This Weekend

Three Little Birds Sewing Co. will hold its official grand opening this weekend after moving to a new, larger space a few blocks away from its old location.

The new shop at 5307 Baltimore Ave., which is two doors down from Green Owl Design, is about three and a half times larger, allowing the sewing studio and craft supply store to have a separate area for classes and their own free parking at the back of the building.

Three Little Birds has also partnered with Sweet Pea Fiber, will occupy a large section of the back of the new location offering an extensive collection of high-quality indie and natural fiber yarns featuring independent producers. It plans to hold workshops and classes in the near future.

Together with Sweet Pea Fiber, owner of Three Little Birds Katie Blattner shared on Instagram how they will hold a Sip & Shop event Friday, Oct. 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. with grand opening celebrations continuing into Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. The first 50 customers on both days will receive a free gift with purchase. There will also be free giveaways including a chance to win tickets to “Hamilton.”

Meanwhile, Green Own Design is planning to redo the facade in the row of shops on the same block as its own location and Three Little Birds, revamping even more storefronts along the Route 1 corridor.
