The Route 1 corridor’s first wine bar will have a soft launch beginning this week.
Located at 3300 Rhode Island Ave. next to Pennyroyal Station in Mount Rainier, Era Wine Bar will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2., through Thursday, Nov. 4, with limited seating, accepting reservations only through Open Table with no walk-ins.
Beginning Friday, they’ll have more reservations available.
Era is the brainchild of Michelle and Ka-ton Grant. Avid world travelers, the two have selected wines from their trips to 42 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and paired them with similarly inspired small plates.
The wine bar will serve wine from countries like Bulgaria, Georgia and Croatia with more than 15 countries represented on its “by the glass” menu alone. Era will also feature paired internationally inspired small plates.
Aside from an extensive wine menu, Era has an exclusive members-only wine cellar which comes with an annual membership and includes custom-made wine-lockers where members can store their own wine bottles. In addition to being able to use the cellar, members get discounts and access to special events as well as discounts on cellar rental fees for private events.
