Here’s Where Kids Ages 5-11 Can Get the Covid Vaccine on Route 1

Prince George’s County Department of Health will offer the coronavirus vaccine to 5- to 11-year-olds at mobile clinics at schools along the Route 1 corridor starting next week. The clinics will be at the same locations each weekday from Nov. 8 through Dec. 15.

Meanwhile, county health officials encourage residents to first check with their local pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens and Walmart, which already have appointments available at locations in and around the Route 1 corridor with easy signups online, or to contact their pediatrician. The county mobile clinics are provided to help residents who can’t get an appointment elsewhere due to their schedules and availability.

Spokesman George Lettis told the Hyattsville Wire that walk-ins are accepted at the mobile clinics, and appointments will be available on the county health department website once the state opens up the vaccine appointment system.

He said that officials plan to add mobile clinics at elementary schools to administer the Covid vaccine to the 5-11 age group soon as well.

“We’ll will be using these mobile vaccination clinics a lot to get as many families to get the vaccine as possible,” he told the Wire. ““The vaccine supply is healthy and we except supply to continue to be healthy.”
