As we close out 2021, we’re kicking off our annual reader poll a little later this year so that you can share with us the people and places on and around the Route 1 corridor that helped you make it through another pandemic year — a year that felt, at times, almost harder than the first.
For our fifth annual Best of Route 1 reader poll, we want to hear about the people and places that got you through the days when you needed it most, the things that brought you comfort and happiness, even when times seemed rough, and became your favorite go-to spots.
Not only is this a great way to share with us the things you love about the area, but it’s also a chance to give back to the people, places and businesses you most appreciate.
Picks must come from the following communities: Woodridge, D.C., Mount Rainier, Brentwood, North Brentwood, Bladensburg, Edmonston, Hyattsville, University Park, Riverdale Park, College Park, Berwyn Heights, Calvert Hills, Greenbelt, Laurel or Beltsville.
You can answer as many or as few questions as you like, but there’s a limit of one entry per person. To prevent ballot-stuffing, we require an email address to take the survey, but we will not share your address with anyone or use it for any marketing purposes.
If you have any comments on why you chose a particular person, restaurant or shop, feel free to add them in your choice. We may quote some entries without using your name or email so that other readers can understand what made something the best.
Submit your entry by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Monday, January 31. Poll winners will be announced on February 6 on the Hyattsville Wire. Two entrants will be randomly chosen to win a $25 gift certificate to a business on the Route 1 corridor.
You can check out the 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 winners here.
