Later this spring, the Hyattsville Wire will mark our 10th year online, and we’re starting the anniversary celebration with over 2 million page views.
Over the last decade, the site has grown bigger than we ever imagined, adding thousands of social media followers, being recognized as an official news source by Google News and having our stories regularly cited by top D.C. news outlets.
We are now at 2.1 million page views, hitting the milestone in a fraction of the time it took for us to reach 1 million.
That is an incredible rate of growth for a hyperlocal news site, and it comes from the support that we have from readers like you who add helpful comments and regularly share our stories on social media and elsewhere.
You can help us grow further.
If you’re not a fan already, like us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and share your favorite stories.
You can also sign up to receive our stories in your email through the box at the bottom of this page, and you can now send tips on local news through a simple online form.
If you love the Hyattsville Wire and want to help us expand, you can join your friends and neighbors who are helping support us this year with a monthly donation of $10 or more or with a one-time donation. You can also become an advertiser on the Wire and regularly promote your business or organization to a dedicated readership.
We’ll also adding a new feature where you can upload a sponsored post for a small fee, giving you the ability to share your stories and announcements on the Wire and promote your work indefinitely.
As always, thanks for reading and sharing our stories, and thanks for your support. We look forward to marking our 10th year with you!
