Little Miner Taco has moved out of miXt Food Hall and into the old Las Margaritas location across the street at 4308 Rhode Island Ave., which has been vacant for a while. The taco eatery is kicking off its soft-opening today.
Corbin Goldstein, CEO of Little Miner Taco, told the Hyattsville Wire that the move was part of a natural progression from a food truck to a food hall and now to their own space.
“We were successful at miXt Food Hall, but we needed more space,” said Goldstein.
The eatery now has its own parking on site and there are about eight seats inside though that will likely increase in the coming months.
Goldstein also told the Wire they hope to set up a covered outdoor seating area and offer alcohol in the future. For now, the menu is the same and includes braised beef quesadillas, carne asada fries or tacos made with halal meat, chicken skirt steak or mushrooms. You can also get a variety of dipping sauces and even purchase a Mexican Coke.
Tomorrow morning an official Little Miner Taco sign will be going up front at their new location and a grand opening will be held at a later date, to be announced. Its neon “Little Taco Miner” sign already hangs in a window inside facing the street.
Among numerous other accolades, earlier this year the taco eatery was listed as one of two restaurants on the Route 1 corridor that made a Washington Post list of the best casual eateries of 2021. In a roundup of the favorite casual spots he visited last year, reviewer Tim Carman highlighted Little Miner Taco.
The taco eatery will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
