Welcome to the New Hyattsville Wire

You may have noticed that the Hyattsville Wire looks a little different.

Earlier this week, we went live with a completely rebuilt website, but we kept pretty much the same design that we’ve had since we launched in 2012.

We built the old site from scratch on a WordPress theme that is no longer supported, which was starting to create problems, making the site less usable and limiting our ability to update it.

But a complete rebuild would not have been possible without a generous grant from the Anacostia Trails Heritage Area administered by the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation and the patient work of Laura McDonald from Dynabytes.

There’s still more work to be done updating the website, so if you come across anything that doesn’t work the way it used to, please let us know in the comments or by emailing news@hyattsvillewire.com.
