Burger Shop at Brentwood’s miXt Food Hall Named One of D.C.’s Best
A Brentwood burger place was named one of D.C.’s best.
Located inside the miXt Food Hall at 3809 Rhode Island Ave., The Burger Shop keeps its menu as simple as its name: burgers and a side of fries are the primary offerings.
But the eatery expands on that concept with offerings ranging from a prime Angus beef burger to burgers made with a beef and pork patty, lamb, salmon, spicy chicken (shown above), Mexican sausage, Impossible meat, and portobello mushrooms. Even the sides are creative, including Old Bay fries, fried plantains, and fried cauliflower.
(There is a brunch menu on the weekend that is a little more expansive.)
So it’s not surprising that when the Burger Shop made the Washingtonian’s list of the 30 best burgers in the D.C. area, it was for one of its other offerings:
Restaurant vet Ismael Montero is best known for his hit taco spot, La Michoacana, inside Mixt food hall. Turns out he makes a pretty great burger, too. Walk over to his nearby stand and start with this salmon patty slathered with chili mayo and pickled veggies. It eats like a great fish sandwich but is as satisfying as any good burger.

So happy to see the Burger Shop recognized! The award is well deserved. Amazing food. I’m a huge fan of the salmon burger.
