Community Forklift to Host 20th Anniversary Events in October (Sponsored Post)
Community Forklift will host two celebrations to mark its 20th anniversary in October.
The first event will be a gala at the nonprofit’s reuse center at 4671 Tanglewood Dr. in Edmonston starting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The Salvage Soirée will feature live bluegrass music by Cherry Blossom Special, food from Riverdale Park’s 2Fifty Texas BBQ, an open bar by Denizens Brewing Co., and salvaged spaces created by local designers. The event will also feature a silent auction, awards, and other activities.
Tickets to the Salvage Soirée are on sale now here. All proceeds benefit Community Forklift. Sponsors for the event include Washington Gas, BOWA Design Build, the Cohen Foundation, Something Vintage, Friedlander Misler, NAI Michael, Nugent & Kash, Savvy Downsizing & Estate Sales, Bethesda Systems, Denizens Brewing Co., Orion’s Attic, and TW Perry.
The second event is a free community celebration from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the reuse center.
The family-friendly community celebration will feature live music from Mount Rainier folk band The Fretters, a pop-up cafe by Woodridge’s Emma’s Torch and a free printmaking workshop by Hyattsville’s Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.
Guests can enjoy a free anniversay cake (while supplies last), take advantage of drop-off clothing donations for Goodwill and explore the reuse warehouse.
