New Restaurant Opening in North Brentwood

A new sit-down restaurant will open in North Brentwood in late March.

Located at 4514 Rhode Island Ave., African American Cafe will feature everything from sub sandwiches to the Nigerian staple jollof rice, crab cakes and pulled pork.

The restaurant is the latest offering from Cecil Boyd, who has long run the Seafood Boss food trucks from the same location.

The restaurant and cocktail bar promises to “blend cuisines from every continent, offering a true African American Food Experience.”

It will hold a grand opening from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, with local leaders, music and samples from the menu.

African American Cafe is slated to be open from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
