Sarku Japan Teriyaki Restaurant Opens in Hyattsville

A new Japanese restaurant has opened in Hyattsville.

Located at 6211 Belcrest Rd., across from the Hyattsville Crossing Metro station, Sarku Japan specializes in teriyaki with a fast-casual menu that also features sushi, spring rolls, tempura and gyoza dumplings.

Founded in 1987, Sarku Japan has long been a mainstay of shopping mall food courts, with more than 170 locations around the country. It also has locations in Laurel and near the IKEA in College Park.

Tracy Chin-Sam, Sarku Japan’s director of marketing, told the Hyattsville Wire that the Route 1 corridor’s demographics and steady growth were the biggest reasons for the expansion.

“We’re excited to expand into Hyattsville because it’s a vibrant, diverse community with a strong appreciation for fresh, high-quality food,” she said.

Sarku Japan is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You can also order online or through DoorDash.
