Bundt Cake Bakery Opens at the Mall at Prince George’s in Hyattsville

A bakery that specializes in bundt cakes will hold a grand opening in Hyattsville this month.

Located next to Tropical Smoothie inside the Mall at Prince George’s, Nothing Bundt Cakes serves everything from a dozen cupcake-sized Bundtinis to individual- and full-sized Bundt cakes baked daily.

The Dallas-based franchise has more than 800 locations across the country, including Bethesda, Silver Spring and Falls Church, Va., in the greater D.C. area.

Local franchise owner Ed Ortiz, who is working with partners Javed Aswani and Shehzaan Chunara on the Hyattsville location, said the mall was a great spot for a bakery.

“Hyattsville is vibrant, diverse, and full of energy, and being inside a shopping mall gives us the opportunity to be part of people’s everyday lives — whether they’re celebrating something special or just taking a break from their day,” he said.

After a soft launch in May, Nothing Bundt Cakes will hold a grand opening at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, including free cakes for city workers, teachers and school staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of that week and for healthcare workers, first responders and the military on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
