Joe’s Movement Dance Parties Raise Money for Immigrant Families

Route 1 residents have been dancing to hits of the ’90s to help immigrant families.

Located at 3309 Bunker Hill Rd. in Mount Rainier, Joe’s Movement Emporium is hosting another Dance in Solidarity event to benefit Prince George’s County Immigrant Rights Collective from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 3.

The adults-only event features an Independence Day-theme: “It’s Our America: Now That’s What I Call a Dance Party!” 

There will be a live DJ along with dinner and drinks. Tickets are available on a sliding scale from $30 to $50.

So far, the dances have raised more than $25,000 for the group, which raises emergency funds for local families who have been affected by Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainments.
