Taste of College Park to Showcase 36 Restaurants Starting Friday
Restaurants and businesses around College Park will feature special offers starting this week.
The second annual Taste of College Park kicks off with an event at City Hall Plaza, at 7401 Baltimore Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17, and runs through Sunday, July 26.
At the event, there will be a live DJ; local Maryland food, art, apparel, jewelry, and accessory vendors; a personalized “Make It” bar and free Taste of College Park merchandise.
Among the special deals from 36 restaurants and businesses during the Taste of College Park are a pizza combo special for $9.99 at Potomac Pizza, 10% off at Honey Pig, a special menu at Li Chun Cafe, and 20% off at The Board and Brew.
Organizer Khadija Mebarki told the Hyattsville Wire that the event was started to help local restaurants during the slow summer season when most University of Maryland students are away. She said it also highlights how it’s changed.
“College Park’s dining scene has grown significantly over the years,” she told the Wire. “Longstanding local favorites such as Pho Thom, Aroy Thai, and Marathon Deli continue to be an important part of the community, while new restaurants and small business owners are bringing fresh ideas and diverse cuisines to the city.”
