Northwest Chinese Food Finds New Space in College Park
Northwest Chinese Food will stay in College Park.
The beloved local restaurant had to move out of its former location on Baltimore Avenue to make way for the Terrapin House apartment complex.
But starting on Saturday, Aug. 15, it will move into the ground floor of City Hall at 7401 Baltimore Ave., sharing space with owner Hua Wang’s other eatery, Li Chun Cafe.
In an Instagram post, Wang noted that there were offers for space outside of College Park.
“There were many possibilities ahead of us, and we were deeply honored by the opportunities to begin again elsewhere,” she wrote. “But after months of careful consideration, one decision never stopped feeling right: staying in College Park with the community that has stood beside us every step of the way.”
Sue Ling, brand manager for Li Chun, told the College Park Life & Times that the other offers came from officials in Greenbelt and D.C.
Under the new arrangement, Li Chun Cafe will continue to serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., but the space will change to Northwest Chinese from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays through Sundays.
