Chick-fil-A to Close Little Blue Menu Ghost Kitchen in College Park
Chick-fil-A will close Little Blue Menu in College Park this fall.
The chicken sandwich chain opened the ghost kitchen at 7242 Baltimore Ave. in 2022 to test a new concept offering delivery from “virtual restaurants” with no sit-down seating.
The company said that it will transition the site into a traditional Chick-fil-A restaurant in 2027, according to industry reports and the Diamondback. It was the last remaining Little Blue Menu in the country.
When it opened, ghost kitchens were widely viewed as the future of fast food. However, as pandemic-era restrictions eased, consumer preferences shifted back toward in-person dining, outdoor seating, and traditional drive-thrus.
The surrounding neighborhood has evolved as well. More mixed-use development along Route 1 increased foot traffic, making a delivery-only model seem like a waste of prime real estate.
Still, it was a testament to the Route 1 corridor’s vibrant dining scene that a national chain chose College Park as a testing ground for a new concept.

Wish we could have Nandos back. We don’t need any more unhealthy fast food.
